David Edmonds is an award winning British composer with a deep passion for creating meaningful and inspiring music. His musical journey began in 2001, composing for brass bands. As a member of the Salvation Army from a young age, David was nurtured by established Salvation Army composers, leading to the publication of his first piece in 2005.

In 2005, he also started his studies in Music Composition and Technology at the University of Hertfordshire, while continuing to contribute to Salvation Army journals for brass band and vocal group compositions.
In 2008, David joined The Salvation Army's Household Troops Band, which provided him with the incredible opportunity to perform around the world and continue writing music for the band. His first year with the band saw the recording and feature of his swing arrangement "Exalted." Over the years, numerous compositions and arrangements by David have been recorded by the band, performed worldwide, and published in Salvation Army journals across the UK, New York, and Canada, as well as by other brass band publishers globally.

David views his musical gift as a divine blessing and continues to use his talents to write and perform music within his church community, for the glory of God.

Beyond composition, David also qualified as a secondary school music teacher in the UK and has served as Musical Director for several ensembles. He has conducted the Hemel Hempstead Brass Band, Luton Brass Band, The Salvation Army's Three Counties Brass Band, and founded his own brass sextet, Codetta Brass. He has also joined the British Army as a reservist musician.

In June 2020, David expanded his musical horizons into TV and film scoring. That December, he composed both the score and trailer for his first feature film, Only Love Matters, earning a nomination for "Best Music" at the Tokyo Indie Film Festival. Since then, he has continued scoring projects for YouTube channels, short films, and other media, including The Morning After and more recently, Holmes: The Myth Of Whitechapel, which won him the award for Best Original Score at the Swedish International Film Festival.

His current goal is to create music that resonates deeply with audiences, supporting both The Salvation Army and the visual media industry, while also inspiring and supporting future generations of composers.
