BIOGRAPHY

OVER 25 YEARS OF COMPOSING EXPERIENCE
David Edmonds is an award-winning composer specialising in orchestral and hybrid scores for drama, action, adventure and psychological thrillers.
Having composed music for more than 25 years, David expanded into television and film scoring, building on a long musical foundation that began writing brass band music in a church setting. His work is shaped by a love of storytelling, combining emotional orchestral writing with modern hybrid textures to support narrative, tension and atmosphere on screen.
David studied at the University of Hertfordshire and the National Film and Television School, and his score for Holmes: The Myth of Whitechapel received Best Original Score awards at the Swedish International Film Festival and PRISMA Rome Independent Film Awards.
IN THE STUDIO
SCORING WITH STORY
AT THE CENTRE
David approaches each project as a storytelling collaboration, shaping music around narrative, character and tone rather than simply writing to picture. His work blends orchestral writing with modern hybrid textures, allowing scores to move between intimacy, tension, momentum and scale depending on the needs of the story.
While he values the space to develop ideas creatively, David works closely with directors and filmmakers to ensure the music supports their vision and the emotional shape of the project. Whether scoring drama, action, adventure or psychological thriller, his focus is always on serving the screen with music that feels cinematic, purposeful and emotionally connected.
Working from his studio setup, David develops scores using a combination of orchestral and hybrid tools, with a long-term ambition to expand projects further through live players and larger-scale production where the scope and budget of the film allows.
